Eid 2024: Since the moon won’t be visible on Tuesday, India will celebrate Eid ul-Fitr on this day.

Due to Tuesday’s lack of moon sighting, Muslims in India will celebrate Eid ul-Fitr on Thursday, April 11, according to Muslim religious authority Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahli. The non-sighting of the moon for Eid was confirmed by the Markazi Chand Committee Eidgah Lucknow. According to news agency PTI, imams at the Fatehpuri mosque and Jama Masjid in Delhi have verified that India will celebrate Eid on Thursday.

The Shawwal new moon of April 9, 2024, did not occur. As a result, the 30th Roza is tomorrow, and Eid-ul-Fitr is on April 11, 2024. The notification stated, “Eid ul Fitr prayers would take place at Idgah Lucknow on April 11, 2024 at 10 am.

The Islamic Centre of India (ICI) Chairperson, Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali, informed PTI that there was no information on Moon sightings from any other part of India on April 9. Thus, it is declared that tomorrow, April 10, will be the 30th roza, and that nationwide celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr will take place on April 11.

Wednesday’s Eid Ul-Fitr celebrations in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates

Prior to this, it was announced that ,Eid Ul-Fitr which commemorates the breaking of the Ramadan fast, will take place on Wednesday, April 10, in Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam’s holiest shrines. The Saudi Arabian Supreme Court declared Wednesday to be the first day of Eid Ul-Fitr after confirming the moon sighting.

The Muslim lunar calendar states that the sighting of the crescent moon determines the timing of Eid Ul-Fitr. Saudi media sources reported that on Monday, it was impossible to see the crescent moon.

Wednesday is also Eid Ul-Fitr in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. One of the five pillars of Islam, the holiday signifies the completion of Ramadan, a month of fasting that is traditionally observed with family get-togethers.

Previous to this, it was declared that Saudi Arabia, the country that gave rise to the most sacred shrines in Islam, will host Eid al-Fitr, a celebration honoring the breaking of the Ramadan fast, on Wednesday, April 10. After verifying the moon sighting, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia proclaimed Wednesday to be the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

According to the Muslim lunar calendar, Eid al-Fitr is celebrated at the exact moment the crescent moon is visible. According to Saudi media sources, it was impossible to see the crescent moon on Monday.

In the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, Wednesday is also Eid al-Fitr One of the five pillars of Islam, the holiday marks the end of Ramadan, the month-long fast that is customarily celebrated with gatherings with family.

Efforts to broker a ceasefire before Ramadan were unsuccessful, and talks in Cairo have yet to yield significant progress, news agency AFP reported. Despite the challenges, Muslims around the world continue to observe Ramadan and prepare for the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
